The Brexit Syndicate
Who is taking back control? The ‘Bad Boys of Brexit’ did not act alone. Behind them lies a murky network of powerful and secretive organisations – a network that has been named The Brexit Syndicate. Together these organisations are rewriting the rules of British democracy to suit themselves.
EU Anti-Tax Avoidance Directive
In 2016 the EU adopted an Anti-Tax Avoidance Directive [(EU) 2016/1164] laying down rules against tax avoidance practices that directly affect the functioning of the internal market.
The Directive It creates a minimum level of protection against corporate tax avoidance throughout the EU, while ensuring a fairer and more stable environment for businesses.
Some businesses that are run out of the UK will be affected by this Directive. They will have to make proper tax contributions to the economy.
Some of those businesses are run by senior Members of the UK Government including Cabinet Ministers. This is probably the real reason that they want to exit the European Union at any cost, including a damaging No Deal exit.
They are rich enough to insulate themselves from the impacts of leaving without a deal. These impacts that are spelt out in the Government’s own Yellowhammer briefing. The ones that Michael Gove refers to as ‘bumps in the road’.
The New European poses the question: Is this the real reason why Farage & Rees-Mogg want Brexit?
